The author of this book examines the pertinent issues related to the legal representation of nonprofit organizations. The book is composed of five chapters. At the end of each chapter, the author provides a summary of the chapter’s most important facts and issues. Chapter 1 discusses creation of a nonprofit corporation. Chapter 2 addresses membership and voting issues. Chapter 3 focuses on the officers and employees of the nonprofit organization. Chapter 4 addresses the various legal problems of nonprofits including tort liability, securities laws, and labor laws, among others. Chapter 5 examines merger, consolidation, and dissolution issues for nonprofits. The author also provides a model nonprofit corporation act in the appendix section. |
