dc.description.abstract This book provides an examination of environmental law, focusing on programs that developed in the 1970s. The book begins with a history of environmental law. The author dedicates a chapter to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. In the following chapters, the book discusses the many programs related to the various environmental issues including, air and noise pollution, water pollution, hazardous and solid waste, toxic waste, and pesticides. The book contains a chapter on the diverse environmental planning programs. The book also provides discussion of state environmental programs. The author includes a chapter that discusses the interaction between economics, energy resources, and the environment. The author concludes with a summary of the environmental issues of the 1970s and a look into the future of environmental law.
