Abstract

1973 was an important year for the substantive criminal law of Texas. Amid the controversy over capital punishment and drugs, the legislature substantially revised the Texas Penal Code for the first time since its enactment in 1856. Professor Bubany accepts the challenge of investigating the deep improvements and shallow shortcomings of these revisions.
