Although Y2K did not produce the calamities that some had predicted, it did yield a reasonable harvest of commercial law cases. This Article summarizes the most important of these cases, but a caveat must be noted that some may have a short life-span due to the July 1, 2001 effective date of the revised Uniform Commercial Code Article 9 that was passed during the 1999 legislative session. As usual, this Article follows the organization of the Texas Business and Commerce Code in its discussion of cases decided during the preceding year. |
